I'm 18?!

Watch out, world! I am technically an adult...

It's my birthday today! Now, because it's a school night I couldn't really celebrate it today so I actually had my party last Saturday. Pictures will be up soon I hope.

Anyway, since it was my 18th, people felt it was necessary to buy me, ME, expensive things. We all know I'm the clumsiest person in the world. It's not a secret. Why my friends have decided to give me things that can easily break, I don't know, but they did.

I know flaunting presents can make you look a bit self centred and egotistic but I'm going to do it anyway because my presents are nice and I love them.

And, yes, I did get alcohol (if you count Smirnoff Ice as alcohol. Personally, I don't. To me, it's just lemonade) and half of the bottle is gone already. Nothing happened.

I reacted to this little figure of Daenerys from Game of Thrones more than I did for the rest of my presents. I think it was mainly because this is something different to what I usually expect to get.

A new Juno wallet! My friends were more happy that I got this than I did. Mainly because I've been using a Miss Piggy wallet for years now and I refused to throw it away. It's in the bin now... Those days are gone.

I absolutely love this! It's a wooden box with a sliding lid that has the vintage sewing machine figure on it. For what it is, it's actually quite heavy but now I have something to keep all of my sewing equipment. Do you know what I used before? An ice cream box.

I am not the biggest fan of perfumes and things like that. I have a vast range of perfumes and they are all from other people through previous birthdays and Christmas. The only one that I really wear is the Red Apple DKNY  perfume.

Purple fluffy jumper and a Ralph Lauren Polo jumper. That's pretty much all I can say here.

My collection of tops just continues to grow and grow whilst the amount of bottom I own just sort of fade away - they either rip, stain, I lose taste in them or they don't fit anymore. I have one pair of jeans. I'm not really a trousers person in general so I depend on shorts and leggings.

Last, and certainly not least is the jewellery. Oh my god, my friends are too much sometimes. My boyfriend got me a Pandora bracelet with a heart charm that has the number 18 in the middle and a few of my other friends grouped their money together to get me a Swarovski pendant! I've worn the necklace once already to school. It was a bold move but it survived.

I really am not a fan of fine jewellery but that necklace is just something else. I really do like it! I also haven't taken the Pandora off (except when I shower) since I got it because I just love it so much. A Pandora bracelet is something I never actually thought I'd ever have mainly because of the costs. Beads are so expensive and I thought it would be better to save up and get a lot of beads at once along with a bracelet. That way it wouldn't be bare. But, it actually looks nice with the one bead and I never expected it too. What makes it even more special and amazing is that it came from someone I truly love myself.

Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub Review

I know I've already mentioned that I have sensitive skin. It's a big problem for me because things like facial scrubs, face wash, toners and all the rest of it are really hard to find. I can't just pick one up and use it because there have been many times that my face just goes "No, I don't like this!" and breaks out in spots and rashes as protest.

I've been looking around the land of blog reviews for anything that could come in handy as well as looking for actual products. Now, I did find one at first (Garnier Pure Active) that I was intent on buying until I saw a bad review of it from someone of the same type of skin as me. Product details are always biased - the whole point is to sell the product - so it was good that I found an honest review from someone with a similar situation as myself or else I would have bought it too and would have been disappointed as well. (Click here for the review).

After looking around some more, I found the Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub from Boots. I have used Simple products before but I wasn't particularly happy with it. The brand is made for people with sensitive skin but every now and then my face would still react and I would feel a stinging burning sensation from the products, especially with the facial wipes. It wasn't a nice feeling at all and it meant I had to stop using them. After that I started to rely on natural remedies that I found on Pinterest like oatmeal scrubs and facials to do the job. I still do; my face becomes ridiculously smooth whenever I use those. However, they weren't amazing when it came to keeping spots away. Every now and then I had to use something with chemicals to do the job. For a while I had the Facial Cleanser from It Works thanks to my mum but I never got another bottle of the stuff.

Anyway, I decided to go with the Simple product once again because I couldn't really find anything else. I didn't have the highest expectations from it but it did end up surprising me a little bit. With a little bit of pressure on your palms and fingers, and through a circular motion, it did exfoliate my face pretty damn well. Because of the pressure, the process can get a little bit painful but I think that it's worth it.

The scrub has no moisturizing after effect so, if your skin dried up really quickly like mine, you will need to apply moisturizer onto your face after you use the scrub.

It's not amazing when it comes to removing make-up (it does take off the majority of it though) so I would pair this with a daily cleanser as well to make sure that your face is clear of everything before you sleep or whatever. There's always a dash of eyeliner left on my face after I use this. It's not a major amount so I can just wipe it off with the tip of my little face towel.

The bottle is not that big so it's worth buying just to test it out. It's got 75ml of the scrub inside. It's really thin too. Part of the reason of why I bought it is because of the size. If I didn't like it, the amount wasn't too much for me to feel regret about buying it.

It lasts a long time as well! You're supposed to use it once a week but I use it every few days. You only have to use a small amount to cover your face and neck so you get your money's worth from it.

The bottle retails at £3.49 in Boots. An affordable amount and it is what I would expect to pay for a decent facial product.

Special Announcement Time!
So, one of my friends on Facebook posted a petition to get flat coke into McDonald's restaurants... really random, yes, but we do get flat Fanta so it's worth a shot, right? Anyway, I genuinely want to see how well this thing can go so if you want the flat coke or, like me, just wants to see what happens, sign the petition through this link: Flat Coke Petition. Tell your friends!

Trendy Tuesday: Those Christmas Jumpers

They're back! With December just around the corner, those usual, slightly cheesy, Christmas sweaters have creeped back into stores for the taking.

Pale Blue Polka Dot Pudding Christmas Jumper

Personally, I have never owned at actual Christmas sweater with the appropriate decoration and all the rest of it. That doesn't mean I don't like them, I just don't like one on me...

Not all Christmas jumpers are cheesy and jolly. Some are actually quite nice and are quite forgivable to wear when it's after Christmas as well.

Samia Santa Elf Christmas Jumper

YES it's only October but I am getting excited about buying a Christmas jumper.

There are some, though, that I just really love because they are just the cheesiest of the cheese!

Oh, this did make me giggle...

The closest I'll ever get to being an elf will be through the ownership of this jumper.

17/11/2014 OOTD: I'm A Pink Marshmallow

Okay, it's been a while...Whoops! I do have a genuine excuse, though!

Last week I sprained my ankle and it meant I couldn't really move around the house. I was pretty stationary during the whole of last week and, unfortunately, it was never in front of my laptop. I could have done posts from my phone but the keyboard irritates me and I'm usually more in the mood when I'm in front of a laptop anyway.

I can sort of walk now (if you count an awkward waddle as walking) so I should be okay from now on.

I decided to do this post in particular because the hoodie I wore today reminds people of a marshmallow. It's two sizes too big but, man, it is comfortable!

The black and white skirt is actually a skater dress. I can't wear heels because of my ankle and the dress on its own clashed with the trainers.

These pictures were taken after rugby training, by the way, so my friends and I were a bit excited as well which led to this...

Personally, I feel that the mint green and the pink worked pretty well together.

I did ask if I could post these on here. I'm responsible.

I've Applied To Uni

I did it, guys! I sent my UCAS application off to be checked by the school I go to and from there, it'll head off to the universities that I've applied to. Hopefully (fingers crossed) I get replies; I'd like at least three just so there's some options and that gives me a better chance of getting in. A reply from all of them would be amazing, though!

Now, it's already been two months into Year 13 and I am feeling the pressure... Homework-wise, the amount I've had to deal with has pretty much doubled since last year and, right now, I really should be carrying on with my Product Design work but I really need time to rest. I just got back from my first rugby game (yeah, I'm active now) and my ankle is absolutely killing me! I fell on it as it gave way under a person and the pain has just been growing and growing over time. During the game, I also ran into one of my own team mates... we were trying to get the same person, okay? We hit each other really hard instead and now we both have cut lips; her cut is so much worse than mine...

This weekend has been ridiculously busy - this week in general has. I've fallen behind on things but I should be able to put myself back on track by the middle of the week. There won't be a Trendy Tuesday post but I could switch it up and do a Trendy THURSDAY instead just to confuse people.

Trendy Tuesday: Checked and Tartan

I am a big fan of checked and tartan clothing and the only reason why I barely have any of it in my wardrobe is because of price and colour avaiability.

Getting my hands all over this when it hits Primark!- Tartan's another big trend this season, can't believe this is Primark!

Sweater: Topshop / Bag: Phillip Lim / Pants: Topshop /... - what do i wear?

Things like red and blue checked clothes and tartans are pretty common because they're basically the traditional colours but the things that I want - purples and pinks - are quite rare. Those colours are also used to make garments that also look quite feminine whereas I tend to wear clothes that are more tomboy, I guess.

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of the girly clothes but, in terms of my look and what I'm comfortable in, the rock/alternative look is really what I go for.

check skirt + black crop top + oversized denim jacket

This brings me quite nicely onto my own little wishlist. I've searched and there are clothes out there that I want and that I'm almost definitely going to get. I guess this is more of a shopping list, in a way, but there's no way I'll be able to get everything.

Since these photos aren't from Pinterest, I can't and don't want to just copy and paste photos so instead I've hyperlinked my list to the original sites!

Pink and Black Tartan Leggings from Select (there's a top to go with this but I don't really like it.)

Tartan Purple Woven Backpack from H&M (it might not be clothing but, man, it is pretty!)

Favourite Moments of October 2014

It's winter. It's official. The weather is still pretty warm, though, considering it's November...

Anyway, here are my favourite moments of October:
  • Going to Nottingham Trent University. It's a nice university!
  • Seeing Annabelle with my friends. It wasn't the greatest horror film ever but it was an OK watch and I did like watching my boyfriend get scared... I didn't expect it.
  • DRIVING A CAR! I still don't have my permit by the way.
  • My dress for my 18th Birthday arrived! It's still weeks until I'm actually 18 and the only thing I got excited about was the dress.
  • Halloween! Of course! This year I got to carve pumpkins. It was a hot mess, I'm not going to lie. The insides of the pumpkins seemed to be of an infinite amount!
It's my birthday soon!! AARGGHH! I'm not ready to be an adult...
