Trendy Tuesday: Bohemian

I actually like Bohemian styles because it's really free-spirited and alternative. Bohemian style is when someone dresses and lives in an alternative and artistic way. It developed from hippie and gypsy styles. To dress like a boho-chic is easy but to actually pull it off is something else. It doesn't suit everyone and you have to be committed to the whole lifestyle, not just the look.

You'd usually see boho-chics with wavy hair and floral headbands, wearing natural colours. You can see the hippie style coming through from them. I think it's a really beautiful, almost fairytale-like look.

Accessories - boho - natural - countryside - countrylife - bohemian - bracelets - petersfield - believe - autumn fashion.

I really like the lack of form in their clothing since it defines freedom in my eyes.

I'm Just A Bit Blue

I haven't posted in a while... Again... Sorry...

This seems to be a normal thing for me, I know, but sometimes it's just hard to find the time or motivation to make these posts. Now that exam season is 2 weeks away, I have just been solely focused on work and getting revision done. It's difficult to do everything and I have to make sure my time is spent well. I don't have bad time management skills and I know how prioritise. This blog is never at the top of my list.

I did, however, spend the whole day yesterday doing no revision. I avoided it. Instead I started on some plush toys and I played monopoly with my siblings and my dad. One of my friends wants a plush doll of me, himself and another one of our friends. I don't know why and I don't want to know why. They are wiling to pay me so if I get this done and out of the way, I'll have money to start another small project.

I haven't been at my happiest lately. I've had coffee and energy drinks and they didn't really do much which kind of sucks because I love both of those things. I've spent less time talking to people and I just don't have a full grasp of what's happening around me right now; I already get distracted pretty easily so I'm basically screwed up right now. It's pretty ironic that I'm listening to "Happy" right now...

Outfit Of The Day 23/04/2014

My playsuit! It's made of polyester and has gold-tipped collars (which are plastic). One of the few things I bought last week.

It is really comfortable and roomy. The weather today turned a bit gloomy by the end of school but it was warm enough to wear it during the day. It does crease easily, though, but it's not that much of a big deal.

Playsuits are ideal for the summer but, if you need to pee or scratch your back, it can get irritating.

The material is really shiny and my camera really sucks... I really need to get my hands on a decent one. This is one of the reasons why I miss my Nokia Lumia.

Patterns, Patterns, Patterns

I have never made a garment using an actual pattern outside of school and I really want to. My head has all of these ideas and I know I can make them if I had patterns on hand. The problem is that I have very little money and patterns are expensive to buy. I am also not that amazing at making clothes (yet) so they would be very useful; I can make clothes that are slightly more complicated.

There are loads of patterns for pretty much every single high street garment that you can think of and I really really want a few packs. Packs from Simplicity are probably the most popular ones and they have about 5 variations of a garment per pack. They also have sizing guides and fabric guides to help you with your sewing.

I am also one of those people that don't like to spend money but end up doing so, so I'm conscious about that. If I go into a shop planning to buy one thing, I'll come out with 10 things and I know I'm not the only one.

I'm just annoyed, really. I don't have a job so I don't have a lot of money left. I've been applying but it's difficult. Once I get more money, though, they're going at the top of my list.

Blog Updates 18/04/13

Okay, so consider the earlier blog post as a small life update. I have been posting quite erratically lately and I'm sorry. My life has been hectic and revision has taken over. We're a few weeks away from exam season and the panic is projecting from most people I know. When that happens, it affects my own state and it's gotten to the point where I am really stressed. I haven't done a lot of work within the last few days since I just need the time to relax.

I am doing this post, though, because I haven't done one in over a month and I like to keep people up to date on what's happening in my life and what's going on on this site. So let's get on with it.

  • I am close to 8,000 views! That's amazing. I find it encouraging to know that people come back and the odd little comments that you leave just make me happy. I don't know if I've already owned up to this before but I am depressed or moody 60% of the time and it does affect me sometimes.
  • Remember that skirt I made earlier this year? That doesn't fit me anymore. It really upset me because it did look good. It was my first attempt and I did throw myself in the deep end with it; it has buttons, box pleats, it was made to a certain size, and I had no pattern at all. It's not perfect - one of the buttons doesn't quite line up with the rest - but it's wearable. I am planning to continue my skirt projects once I have a decent amount of pocket money and I am making them with elasticated bands, not a fixed size. That was a bad idea.
  • I have been doing Trendy Tuesday posts for a while now and I can only go so far with them on my own. I'd like some comments and suggestions under posts. There are only so many trends happening at once. I also know how many people read those (it's a lot) so if there's something that catches your eye in the fashion world, tell me!
  • There will be selfies at the end of some posts because I can do what I want on here. I did this last week out of boredom and I realised that my face isn't on here that often. You should know who's talking to you, right?
I hope you have an awesome Easter weekend and Bank Holiday Monday (UK)! Make sure you don't eat too many chocolate eggs at once because you will throw up.

I Bought Clothes

So I told you guys that I was going to buy this nice pair of espadrille wedges from an earlier post. It took my mum and I forever to get onto isme.co.uk since I've been really busy lately and so has she. When I finally managed to buy things, they were sold out in all sizes. I cried inside... I did manage to buy a playsuit and a maxi skirt that I wanted so all was not lost. Everything else I wanted was sold out too.

Yesterday, I went shopping with a friend as well. I bought a purple top from Primark and some more tights from Next (I love wearing tights but they seem to hate me). The purple top is really nice and, I'm not being vain, I looked amazing in it.

I haven't got any pictures of the clothes on me - I wasn't thinking about that at the time - but I'll post them later on when I wear them again.

Trendy Tuesday: Burgundy

Okay, so this may be a dying trend now but it was a big one back when the weather was on the fritz. Burgundy clothes saw a major high last year during autumn and winter. Why? Because the colour works. It looked good on everyone and with anything. Burgundy jumpers were the main things that shone through - most people wore one at some point.

I have my own burgundy skirt and jumper. I like the colour too and it goes nicely with my skin tone since it's a nice subtle shade of red.

And clothes weren't the only thing that was burgundy. Hair in any shade of red is always going to be a trend.

Burgundy hair. I should stop procrastinating and do this

Chocolate and Cornettos

I seriously need a day where I can do absolutely nothing. Will I ever get that day? No. Not within the next few months at least. I am tired of the half term. I know we still have one week left but I just want to be back at school already. When I'm not revising I'm babysitting; when I'm not babysitting we, as a family, go visit some family friends and stay there until 4am (seriously); when that's not happening I'm revising. It's an endless cycle and I have had little to no sleep.

Last night I was at a family friends' house - our families are really close - so we went on walk around 10pm at night and bought ice creams, chocolate and sweets to bring back to their house to eat. We set ourselves up in one of the bedrooms and watched movies until 4am. Most of us passed out whilst watching "Insidious" since it's a horror and they're all wimps. I stayed up and watched it. I have seen it before but there are still bits that scare me.

The chocolate definitely helped me to relax a little bit last night as well as stay awake through all of the movies.

I haven't blogged for a few days because of all of the mayhem around me right now. I've had to take blogging off of the list so that I can get everything else done and make sure that I get some time to do nothing. 5 minutes is better than 0 minutes and I seriously treasure that time.

Meowmeow Star Acres

It's a game. A very adorable yet addictive game. I can't stop playing it so I've had to work it into the stuff I'm doing now. When I first downloaded the game, I think I was on it until the battery was close to death.

Meowmeow Star Acres is a farming game with cats... You can see how this attracted me. It looked like a pretty random scenario for a game but I think it works out well. It's targeted at children more than adults but all of the reviews are written by adults saying they're in love with it, they're addicted etc.

It's been 3 days and I'm doing pretty amazingly with the game. I've managed to work out a way to use it to encourage me to work. After I get a piece of work done, I spend about 20 minutes on the game then I go back to work or read more of A Storm of Swords (I'm on the last chapter!). As you can see, I don't like having nothing to do so I'm always moving about. There are days where I'd spend about 3 hours just staring at the TV but I haven't felt like doing that yet.

This has just added to all of the many things that already distract me from life and social contact with people...

If you play this game and want a friend then add me! My invite code is 9L6MV5EQ. I have no friends at the moment...

Wishlist Wednesday

Whoops... I was out all day yesterday so I had no time to do a Trendy Tuesday post. I was out after an hour of being awake up until ridiculous o'clock. I just went to bed once I was alone. It was about 2-3am at that point. Sorry, guys!

To make up for missing out yesterday, I thought I'd make another wish list. I made one already that compiled of shoes that I wanted. They were quite expensive shoes and I still haven't bought the ones I said I would. I will eventually, though, so I might do a review of those once I get my hands on them.

So, this wish list is going to be slightly different. All houses have rules and there are certain ones that our house has that I am most likely going to break as soon as I get out of here and live on my own. That's not all this list has, though. There's still clothes (duh!) and other things that you guys know that I love but don't have.

Vivienne Westwood Dress - Anglomania

I'd prefer a different colour hem though, purple isn't my thing but GORGEOUS blazer.
Vivienne Westwood Navy Jacket - Red Label

So Vivienne Westwood is my all-time favourite designer. I love her clothes and I really want to own something, anything, from the Anglomania collections. I definitely want the red dress, however, because it's such a nice shape and I like it's silhouette. I'm pretty self-concious when it comes to anything below my chest, particularly my hips and thighs, and this dress would go nice with my body.

All of the punk and plaid outfits are from previous collections but that doesn't mean I don't think the new ones aren't as good. They are. I just prefer the darker clothes because they're more my style.

Ooo dark purple hair. This is gorgeous without being too dramatic

One rule that my parents have is that I am not allowed to dye my hair. It doesn't matter if it's a natural colour or not. What I'm currently doing right now is growing it. My hair isn't that long (shoulder length) so it should be the length I want it to be by the time I'm in university.

I'm not going to go straight in and dye my whole head dark purple. I'm still on the fence about doing it in the first place but I think it would look nice. I'd probably start with semi-permanent purple and dip-dye my hair. I'll do my whole head once I get the confidence to. I like the colour because it's not bright. My goal is not to stand out and be different. It's just something that I want to try at least.

ASOS Skeleton Jumper £38.00
ASOS Skeleton Jumper

Last one! I have a lot of things with skulls on them, including a jumper. I want this one too. There really isn't a lot to say about it other than it looks awesome.

This wasn't a long list, I know, but I felt obliged to do it since I missed out on yesterday (sorry again) but I can't really make promises for next week either...

I also haven't put my face on here in a long time so here's a selfie just because I can:

Note: I am not this pale

My phone's camera isn't amazing. It still does the job. That's all for now. Stay beautiful x

Pinteresting

Most of you know I'm addicted to Pinterest. It's like my Tumblr but without the weird and slightly insane people. My friends all have Tumblr so I'm speaking from experience here.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share some of the random pictures that I've seen recently. I'm really terrible when it comes to photography so I always get uber jealous when I see the pictures on there.

Pinterest, if you don't know, is like an artist's online paradise. There's so much art and creativity in everything. Also, there's a butt load of catwalk photos on there that I love and it keeps me up to date on trends and things like that as well. It's a pretty good source for inspiration and ideas and I always look to it for guidance. When I'm sitting alone and bored, it's also nice just to scroll through the pages and search up something random like "spoon" and have the search come back with amazing spoon art. I didn't even know that existed. I mean look at this!

I really want the "Cereal Killer" spoon. I'm not kidding. It looks awesome and I think it will make me happier in the mornings.

Here's some more pictures that I like:

If you love food and cooking, it's also an ideal place to get recipes and to share your own. The pictures of food make me so hungy. I like looking at desserts quite a lot. I haven't made any of them but I really want to try! If you guys find one on Pinterest and decide to make it, let me know how good it is!

Maybe I follow you and you don't even know it! If you want to see my profile then click here. I don't have a lot of boards but they are very colourful.

I Have Space!

I have finished the noticeboard! All of my exam stuff is now on it and not on my desk or cupboard or wherever else I put them.

My desk has been a big clutter of rubbish for months now so I thought it best to tidy it up. When I did that, half the stuff on it ended up in the bin. Surprisingly, my desk is bigger than I thought. Now I have space for my makeup, my sewing machine and my laptop and I still have space for writing. It's amazing!

I remember the last time I cleaned my desk I made a post about it to. It just encouraged me to clean and then a month later my desk was messy again.

I know this isn't the most interesting post but I do feel proud of what I've done here so I thought I should tell someone. I am a really sad person and nothing eventful has happened lately so you're stuck with this.

It is the term break now and I should probably be more excited but I have a whopping amount of revision ahead of me and I still have days where I'm going to school for revision sessions. I know I'm not the only one. Don't stress yourself out so much.

Cloudy Skies

So the news has made it pretty clear that everyone in the south of England and Wales are going to encounter, or are already encountering, smog from the Sahara desert. I don't how much I should react to this since I don't have lung problems or anything like that so I see it a pretty harmless. I'm also an indoors person when it's not August so I'm fine.

Outside, it's pretty grey and it smells a bit weird. I see how that can be worrying but I'm so used to freakish weather changes here in the UK that I can easily overlook it.

My own mind is a bit doom and gloom at the moment as well. Instead of a brain inside my head, I have a grey cloud. Exams are in a few weeks! I know I have to do them and I can't avoid them. I've done so much revision that even just looking at my schoolbag or desk makes me cry. I've done 3 straight hours of work today: one hour or art work and two on maths. I don't really fear the exams. I fear the revision more... My attention span is not that amazing and I can easily find myself on YouTube or Facebook without realizing it.

My first exam is on the first day back after half term which isn't great. I have revision sessions to go to during the half term as well as independent revision to do. I have made sure I have days off but I know I'm going to come back to school in two weeks with nothing but the thought of sleep in my head.

To top it all off, we went to McDonald's for lunch earlier. The Monopoly thing is happening again and I like participating in that. Between us, we had about 15 of those stickers with the online codes on them. I enterred them all onto the McDonald's website and got nothing. NOTHING. I would have been fine after enterring the 8th code to win as little as £10. I didn't care about how amazing the things you could possibly get were. I just wanted something, anything. Luck wasn't on my side. Hopefully it is during my exams...
